Adventure Cruising the Caribbean in a SeaPearl 21

Hola Everyone,

We are Steve and Ginny and we have been traveling since last December starting in Pine Island, Florida and are now in La Ceiba, Honduras. Our vessel is quite small (a 21' day sailing boat we converted to a "live aboard") and we have been traveling the coastline slowly south exploring all the little nooks and crannies of the Western Caribbean.

If you're into small boats you may have read the first in a series of articles we are doing for Small Craft Advisor. Anyway, we look forward to hassling you with our many (often unanswerable!) questions.

Thanks,
Steve and Ginny Ladd

Hey Steve and Ginny...welcome to the forum.
Your likely to get loads of "small cruiser" type questions here.
I can see some spin off threads.

welcome to the forum! The Sea Pearl 21 is an open boat, is it not? With two masts? Would love to see pictures of your rig.

Awesome trip. Hey, I have to ask. I was browsing your gallery and noticed a google map seaking up on the right that showed the location of the photo including lat and long. Did you have to do that manually? Or do you have the latest in Camera tech that we dont know about?

Cheers

Oz

Thanks for the warm welcome guys!
Oz: The google map is unfortunately manual. It's not 100% accurate, but close. I just like to keep a record of where pictures were taken so my future forgetful self can be reminded!

Welcome aboard. I just read your article in the current issue of SCA. Sounds like you're having fun!

Some great design details in your Sea Pearl. I especially like what you did with aluminum tube for storage solutions.

Welcome Aboard Guys! Your Sea Pearl was built by a close friend of mine-Ron Johnson of marine Concepts. She's a sweet-sailing craft and perfect for gunkholing a coastline like you are. Look foward to hearing about your adventures! Cptn Happy

I enjoyed your blog and photos. Keep posting your adventures. It's very cool to be cruising in a 21 foot yacht.
