A Prodigal Poster Returns

Hello everyone! As my profile alludes, I am technically not a new member to the forum. I initially joined when the first symptoms of the bug starting running rampant but have since only occasionally checked into the forum.

BUT...after years of patience, daydreaming, virtual whining, and settling for club flying scots, I have FINALLY purchased my first boat. You are looking at (the posting of) a proud new owner of a 1980 Catalina 30 Tall Rig! My wife has been claiming (jokingly...I think) that I just might be more excited than the day my son was born!

See ya'll out there.

Congratulations. Cat 30 is a nice boat. Very roomy for the family as well.

Aloha and welcome aboard!
Congratulations! Did you pass out cigars?
That's a very good choice for your first boat purchase.

Welcome, do you keep your boat in NOLA? We're in southshore.

Re: A Prodigal Poster Returns

Congrats. Our first boat was a Cat30. Good call on the tall rig, extra good if you got the sprit too. Ours was a standard stick and the weather helm could really be something. Better performance on the tall rig. All the racers get the tall because the time difference is way less than the performance delta.

Great boat though. It sold the admiral on the lifestyle...

The boat is in Mobile but I will be moving it to either Orleans Marina or Southshore Harbor.

I have the sprit as well. And it's definitely helping my Admiral appreciate the lifestyle!
