A pleasure to meet all of you.
Hello. Nice to join in on this impressive forum. I am anxious to meet people and learn more about the wonderful world of sailing. My wife and I have a small “trailer sailer” which has been fun to own for the past few years. Unfortunately, like most of us working people, I have used it far less than anticipated and though I love it (and may keep it) my heart is yearning for a 30+ foot cruiser. After taking lessons on SF bay and enjoying the spaciousness and stability of a 30 foot Hunter I came to the conclusion that this is the way to spend my spare time. Our plan is to meet other couples in the SF Bay Area who share our desire and possibly form a partnership in a late model cruiser. Hopefully, this forum will help us get started. Since we are limited on time (40 hour work week) and funds (no six figure income here) our best bet is to share ownership and time with others and keep within a budget (hence, my user name). If there are any of you in the Bay Area that are interested please contact me. I have done some of the math so I can share some cost/time examples of shared ownership. Thanks. Of course we are available on weekends if anyone needs crew or company (snacks? drinks?). Happy to serve! Thanks.

Greetings, and WELCOME aboard, BudgetCruiser.
You might wish to take a look at the “Islander vs Columbia vs Catalina” thread, where xcountry rider discusses his boat partnership plans. Goto: Islander vs Columbia vs Catalina

Welcome BudgetCruiser,
I love your screen name. Remember the sunsets and sunrises look the same from a gold plater or a surfboard. The West Potter is a beautiful sailboat. I still have my MacGregor Venture of Newport 23 and the memories of beautiful days on the water. I wish you fair winds in obtaining your dream. John |

Aloha Budget,
Welcome aboard! Our club has a WWP 19. Great little boat! It gets a lot of use and is really good for our conditions here in Hilo Bay. I'll bet you can find a partnership there pretty easily. Kind regards, JohnL |
