A newbie from a very wet and grey Cornwall. Hello!

Hi folks!
Sitting here holed up in the boat once again as yet more wet weather soaks this already very soggy country, I thought I would seek out the camaraderie of some fellow salts.
I currently liveaboard while I've taken myself back to university as a mature student and then I spend the summer cruising and anchoring around the south west. I'm relatively new to sailing having only truly discovered its charms after an unexpected day excursion on a classic yacht a few years ago. After dabbling in dinghies for a while I bought my own 1930s gaffer in 2012 which I have sailed from the Isle of Wight to Penzance and this year intend to extend my passage making abilities by heading first to the Scillys and then across to France. That's as long as her lift out in march doesn't reveal too much work needing to be done!
Anyway, I hope the sun shines on each of you today, it certainly isn't going to make an appearance here!

Welcome to you from a very Wet and Gray Portland Oregon...
I have only been here a short time myself but it has been a fun time so far. Educational, enlightening and a bit of humor and fun.

Welcome from the drought-ridden California. Wish we had some of your rain. Good on you for getting out on the boat. I hope your haul-out goes great.
