33 days to a new life

It has been almost 2 years since we made the decision sell all we own, finalize our retirement plans and now we are 33 days away from reality...but who is counting. This forum has helped in many of the decisions along that path.

Our plans include sailing during the sailing season and at times fly back to tour the US in our RV to stay in touch with our family and land side friends for part of the year.

Our boat is a 2014 Lagoon 400 S2 that is currently weathering out the hurricane season in Curacao. We splash her October 18 from Curacao Marine to start our new life.

We have sailed most of our life on mono hulls. We look forward to the challenges of a live board life, extended cruising, and adjustments to a cat.

We refer to ourselves as "over there" sailors meaning no set plans, no set timetable or in a hurry. We will let the weather, new friends and learning about new locations help define what our next "over there location" will be.

Currently, our plans are to finalize the boat prep/provisioning in Curacao Marina then to Spanish Waters for a few days before heading over to Bonaire in early November. We will see where we go from there.

Our boat is S/V Q4 stop by and have a beer if we happen to cross your path.

A man named Brewer saying "stop by and have a beer" Heck Yes!

Congrats and enjoy retirement!

Sounds like you are two lucky people. Good luck, and let me know if you ever hit the Sea of Cortez. I'll pour you a margarita.

Cheers, Bill
