27 Year Plan Comes Together

My wife and I just bought our new boat a 2007 Hunter 49 aft cockpit. This was a 27 year plan I have been working towards ever since I was 21 and had crewed a 57' Swan from San Diego to the South of France. We are both very excited to be embarking on our new adventure and looking forward to meeting new friends and new destinations.
Our sailing plan for now is for the winter months as we own & operate a fishing lodge on the Kenai River in Alaska that is busy during the summer. We are dry docking our sailboat in Charleston SC until October, then we plan to float her and spend the winter sailing Florida, Keys and the Bahamas. At the end of the winter we hope to sail to Pensacola and dry dock for the following summer. Our hope is to refloat again in October 2013 and sail through the canal and up through Baja and then to San Diego.
Looking forward to hearing from all of you and sharing all the help and resources for everyone.

Regards,
Evertt

Re: 27 Year Plan Comes Together

Welcome to the forum. Summers at a lodge in Alaska, winters cruising the tropics. Sounds really tough. Don't have too much fun.

Aloha and welcome aboard!
I love it when I see someone's plans come together. I'm a bit jealous though.
kind regards,

Congrats fellow Alaskan. I used to live in Valdez, and your one of many that live and work up North, but play and vacation in warmer climates. Notice my call sign in my signature.
