Study shows what many intuit:

Why Most Published Research Findings Are False

Quote:
Corollary 5: The greater the financial and other interests and prejudices in a scientific field, the less likely the research findings are to be true.

Corollary 6: The hotter a scientific field (with more scientific teams involved), the less likely the research findings are to be true.
In consideration of this study, and in the light of issues with diet/nutrition studies (https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...lly-published/), why shouldn't we be skeptical about climate studies?

Perhaps this applies (from WUWT)?

You should always be skeptical. But refusing to honestly engage with the evidence in favour, and just collecting excuses or plausible negatives, is denial, not skepticism.

You should always be skeptical. But refusing to honestly engage with plausible negatives, and just collecting excuses or the evidence in favour, is alarmism, not skepticism.

March temperature smashes 100-year global record | The Guardian
Quote:
The global temperature in March has shattered a century-long record and by the greatest margin yet seen for any month.

February was far above the long-term average globally, driven largely by climate change, and was described by scientists as a “shocker” and signalling “a kind of climate emergency”. But data released by the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) shows that March was even hotter.

Compared with the 20th-century average, March was 1.07C hotter across the globe, according to the JMA figures, while February was 1.04C higher. The JMA measurements go back to 1891 and show that every one of the past 11 months has been the hottest ever recorded for that month. [...]

The UK Met Office expects 2016 to set a new record, meaning the global temperature record is set to have been broken for three years in a row.[...]

The UN climate summit in Paris in December confirmed 2C as the danger limit for global warming which should not be passed. But it also agreed agreed to “pursue efforts” to limit warming to 1.5C, a target now looking highly optimistic.[...]

This essay ought to give pause to the believers in the "consensus" argument.

That's it...
All of you MMGW Deniers are guilty of Crimes and the DOJ and State Attorney Generals will soon be tracking you down to send you to a re-education camp.

Folks...
When the MMGW Cultists have to silence those that disagree with threats of criminal prosecution, you know the MMGW Cultists are in Trouble.

It doesn't seem to matter that the Attorneys General have yet to reveal any evidence that Exxon or other oil cos. have committed fraud, or done anything other than pursue a policy agenda that happens to be at odds with that preferred by CC activists. Unlike Big Tobacco, where's the evidence that Big Oil knew about a direct casual link btwn. fossil fuel emissions and harmful GW but tried to suppress it? Maybe mere insinuations are enough? But why let mere facts stop the use of criminal prosecutions to resolve policy differences? Especially when it proves itself to work so well for those in charge of tyrannical govts. Just ask Vladimir.

Greenland sees record-smashing early ice sheet melt | The Guardian
Quote:
Polar researchers thought their models were broken when they first saw the results.

Almost 12% of Greenland’s ice sheet was melting on Monday, according to data crunched by the Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI).

It beat, by almost a month, the previous record for a melt of more than 10%, on 5 May 2010.[...]

Even a weather station 1,840 metres above sea level recorded a maximum of 3.1C, which data analysts said would be warm for July, let alone April.[...]

Left: Maps showing areas where melting has taken place within the last two days.
Right: The percentage of the total area of the ice where the melting occurred from 1 January until 11 May (in blue).
The dark grey curve represents the 1990-2013 average.
