I prefer science to science fiction.

Strangely enough.. oft times the latter precedes the former.. but I guess you'd not be aware of that..
apart from fictional science.

Re: Why Climate Change Won't Matter in 20 Years

And then there's this:

Synthetic microbe lives with less than 500 genes | Science | AAAS

There are microbes that "eat" hydrocarbons and use that to live. Maybe a synthetic bacteria (or even something simpler than bacteria) could be designed to convert CO2 from the atmosphere and water into a fuel. Then perhaps the hydrocarbon fuel cycle would be completed in a way that results in less atmospheric CO2 and less drilling. Nature does this now with trees and plants but the resulting fuel (e.g. wood) is not very "clean". As science figures out how the genome works they will be able to design organisms to do all sorts of previously impossible things.

As the bard once penned, "There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy."

There's a few 'Options' out there.. unfortunately they've been bought out by the Oil & Motor Cartels as its against their interests for this science to advance

Actually, I like the concept of algae stripping C02 from the atmosphere. It combines the carbon with hydrogen, expelling oxygen as waste in the process. Given the right conditions, algae can store it's energy for millennia as, umm, fossil oil.

All models indicate that El Niño will weaken, with a transition to ENSO-neutral likely during the late spring or early summer 2016 (Fig. 6). Thereafter, the chance of La Niña conditions increases into the fall. While there is both model and physical support for La Niña following a strong El Niño, considerable uncertainty remains. A transition to ENSO-neutral is likely during late Northern Hemisphere spring or early summer 2016, with close to a 50 percent chance for La Niña conditions to develop by the fall (click CPC/IRI consensus forecast for the chance of each outcome for each 3-month period).

Re: Why Climate Change Won't Matter in 20 Years

At this point all I remember about the movie "WaterWorld" is Costner drinking his own urine, or was that another movie?

Anyway, the science is settled....

That is called weather but the report I read sail a strong LA Nina was likely by mid to late fall.

It as water world and he ran it thru a simple solar still before he drank it.
Also the science is not settled and never will be.

Re: Why Climate Change Won't Matter in 20 Years

I don't know about the rest of you folks, but I'm in the final stages of packing and getting all mechanical supplies ready for the beginning of our cruising season which begins May 10th in Sardinia, Italy.

Just 10'days until cruising Mexico, then.....

Looking forward to leaving gloomy New England (it was a rainy, raw 36 degrees F today), and feeling some of that refreshing global warming.
