The other irony -- if one can call it that -- is that it is only through the technology that Western Civilization has created that we have the "science" that purportedly shows MMGW. Why is all this technology, and the civilization that produced it, so disdained?

I think subsidizing research into how to make these technologies more energy and thus cost-efficient may be appropriate, but misleading tax & utility payers into accepting add'l costs by misrepresenting and/or exaggerating the benefits of renewables is fraudulent. Despite protests from the ideologues, one of the best examples of this to date are the Calgary wind turbines that officials claim directly "power" the city's commuter train.

We really need to do this one again? Ok.

It's a government conspiracy.

Don't be so naive. It's a way to get politicians re-elected. Think about it. If it was such a great deal for consumers, then why not pitch it straight, i.e. "we would like you to pay more than you would otherwise have to pay in exchange for a cleaner environment and less MMGW." It seems like this is what the Europeans have voted for in the broad EU mandates for reducing CO2 emissions . . . then again, maybe not.

I don't have any problem letting consumers & taxpayers make this choice for a cleaner planet; I only object to people being misled by politicians for personal career advancement or worse.

Or do you prefer not to have the decision left to all those ignorant, Bible-totin, unwashed masses? I thought you were on the side of democracy, protecting the 'lil guy,' not letting big corps. and their political allies subordinate the peoples' will? Convince people of how right you think you are about the science that supports MMGW, and then let them deal with the added costs and other consequences honestly. Shouldn't be all that hard, you only have about 50% of the planet's population left to persuade.

That is the great question for our time.
Why does the Left hate what made us great?
Answer: because they don't view Western Civilization as Great....Obama doesn't, nor does the left. They view income inequality as more important than individual freedom and liberty, in essence, they are apposed to everything Capitalism, the Free Market, and Freedom stands for. They tried Communism, Socialism, and those didn't work and solve the problem, so now their movement is the Green Movement, because who can be against saving the planet right? But now think about it...what personal freedom are the Green pushing? Nope, the individual is second to the greater good and society....bingo again.

The American Dream is alive and well in Sweden

You funny man...

Stick with the MMGW Cult because your view of the American Dream are pretty funny.

Income inequality is associated with a lack of social mobility, less freedom to rise in economis standing.

What exactly are you free to do? Not increase your personal standard of living.
