Figured you may consider the CIA more believable than Wiki..
Getting rid of all those digits that rounds out to 93 million bbl/day
or 34 billion bbl/year. Which is 3.8 trillion gallons per year.

That's a long way from the 99 quadrillion that you originally stated:

"Ninety eight thousand nine hundred seventy six trillion, eight thousand nine hundred forty five billion, nine hundred ninety eight million gallons, give or take a few trillion. It will be safer to take instead of give. That's how much."

In fact it would take 26 thousand years at current consumption to use that much.

Those 34 billion barrels per year is about 6 cubic kilometers.

For reference, that's about the same volume as Loch Ness.
Or 1/2000th of the volume of Lake Superior.

Re: Why Climate Change Won't Matter in 20 Years

I see NOAA has released figures for January 2016 as being the warmest January on record and Arctic Ice extent as the lowest on record. Just thought I would drop in a fact here.

January 2016 marks the ninth consecutive month to break a monthly global temperature record. Ocean surface temperatures were also record warm for the month, while land surface temperatures were second highest on record.

The average Arctic sea ice extent for January was 7.14 percent below the 1981–2010 average, the smallest for the month since records began in 1979.

Omg it's all over. Start building the ark. So if Feb and March are not then we will be ok. Whew.

To be honest I went to Yahoo answers for that one and chucked it in to get you lot going.. it worked a treat.

Just wait for the screams when they release the February figures!

UAH already has it as hotter a higher anomaly than January and a new record anomaly.

It's nearly 1/10 of a degree warmer higher than the peak of the comparable El Niño in 1997/98. Wow, nearly 1/10° of warming in 18 years or 0.5° per century.

Oh Noes, the sky is falling!.

Edit: Corrected "hotter" to the more accurate "higher anomaly". Just because the monthly anomaly is higher than another month, doesn't mean that the temperature is.

That's great!!! Longer growing seasons and open shipping lanes across the Arctic. A double bonus win...

Yeah, but here's the catch... THE RECORDS ONLY GO BACK TO 1979!!

Talk about "cherry picking."

Re: Why Climate Change Won't Matter in 20 Years

IMHO I think man made climate change is a farce, there was a time when the Romans grew grapes in England. That means the temperature of the earth had to be significantly warmer then than it is now.

I think that it has nothing more to do with anything than that some political hustlers realized if they could scare people into thinking the planet was going to burn up that they would vote these people into power and in turn these people would become wealthy and make their friends wealthy pushing this agenda.

What makes me so mad about the whole thing is it totally side steps real threats to this beautiful little blue green mud ball we inhabit.

For instance when you consider the long term effects of dumping mountains of trash, mainly plastic into our oceans, that has a real tangible effect, when you consider all of the radiation Fukushima dumped into the Pacific, that has a tangible effect.

And when you start to consider we just have way too many humans on the planet, and then you consider as resources become more rare people are going to start fighting for those resources because we already are, but soon the situation will get worse.

Call me crazy, but I think war = really bad for the environment.

I think there is but one solution, we need to go to space, we need to figure out how to use electricity to get us into space, and we need to start the next massive human migration into space so as that the population on planet can decrease.

If we don't well that population will hit its breaking point and then, well and then the population will be decreased but it will be done so by war, famine, disease and so much more of the ugliness humanity is capable of bestowing upon its self.

No they don't - they go TO 1972.

But they omit the first few years in current data.

When you look at the part that is omitted, you have to say WTF? That's cherry picking!
Just look at their start year of 1979 compared to EVERY other year.
