The unprecedented part is the overwhelming contribution of human activities to climate change.
I skimmed it while making dinner you do realise it was written and final drafted by the IPCC which has been shown several times on here to be a politically driven multi government commission for the united nations. They showed two conflicting graphs on the same page. I would personally look upon any papers from a multigovernmental agency to be suspect.

Brandon is actually about 150 miles due north, know it well, grew up (among other places) in a little town 20 miles to the east, Morton. Tonight in Brandon the forecast low is 24F. Here in Slidell the forecast low is 25. In Seattle, the forecast low is 41. Maybe you should be breakin out the seeds...

This op-ed in Nature discusses the impact (pro and con) of the new transparancy and how campaigns against some fields are being waged.

Research integrity: Don't let transparency damage science : Nature News & Comment
Orchestrated and well-funded harassment campaigns against researchers working in climate change and tobacco control are well documented3, 4. Some hard-line opponents to other research, such as that on nuclear fallout, vaccination, chronic fatigue syndrome or genetically modified organisms, although less resourced, have employed identical strategies.

(warning - Lewandowsky alert, for those who like to dismiss things before reading them)

Had the Japanese complained of Allied forces brutality in WWII, it would surely have followed the theme of that article.

Forgetting sites like Skepticalscience for a moment, the award for the ultimate underhanded denigrating site for climate researchers, activists and the like is...

Guess which side it's batting for?

Even so, is it any wonder these guys find themselves dissed upon?...

If it means basically "best guess" in the world of antivirus software, wouldn't the same meaning apply with climate models? :-)

Pretty close.

Forecasting models seldom have a handle on all system variables, and contingencies are very hard to forecast.

Another non answer from the master of obfuscation

But at least you've finally identified one of the issues with the models.

Is this a new way to Godwin something without mentioning Nazis?

I found the article fairly evenhanded, especially for the way it laid out the obligations of the researchers to be forthcoming and open.

What has that - advocates throwing buns at each other, basically - got to do with the article, which is referring to the people actually doing the research, and the attacks they undergo?

If your victims of choice aren't publishing peer-reviewed work... they're not in this league, they're part of the problem.

Oh no.... That will melt the two feet of record breaking snow that buried and froze Washington DC over the weekend.
