Al Gore is a piker, compared to the really expensive speakers.
Donald Trump is on top with the staggering $1.5 million the Learning Annex paid him for each speech he delivered at the company’s real estate “wealth expos” in 2006 and 2007.
Bill Zanker, founder and president of the Learning Annex, hired Trump in 2005 to speak at three real estate investing seminars for $1 million a pop. Those went so well that the company proceeded to hire The Donald for another 17 seminars in 2006 and 2007 for $1.5 million each. Zanker claims that he’s turned a profit on every event.

Which side do you think is doing the shoveling? Or is it a bit from both sides?

"Staggering" is certainly an appropriate description for this one, Gord. So is "unbelievable," except that I believe it.

Man, I'm glad you showed up. I've been waiting for the one guy who can sort out all the information on both "sides" of the AGW/CC discussion and can tell us all what the "truth" is.

Can you tell us which posts contain errors due to ignorance so we can all ignore them?

There's been a lot of conversation on this thread by others, on both sides, who think some posts are ignorant, and I'd really be interested in knowing which you agree with.

Yep gore don't make the trump money but he also don't talk real estate he talks about the climate . At least we know trump knows what he is talking about. ( making money) . There is no proof that anything Al Gore has said helped anyone at all ( not counting his own pockets) .

Great dodgey non answer to the question. What is your actual opinion on this subject?

There's much truth to this one, L-E. Even the environmental lobby admits their mistake, but unfortunately the US administration doggedly pursues it, claiming it's part of its biofuel agenda. Ethanol Investigation: The Secret, Dirty Cost Of Obama's Green Power Push. And in true form (and as the Huff Post article points out), voices of critics from the Dept. of Agriculture have been suppressed. But I think you're right that the real reason this environmentally & economically destructive policy continues is simply that Iowa happens to be the first US primary/caucus in the presidential election cycle. Ted Cruz was the only candidate I saw initially defy the farm lobby, but now that he is in a tough fight with The Donald he has backed off, saying now that he would like to phase out ethanol by 2022. But it shows a bit of courage I suppose, relatively speaking that is.

Any ex-VP is going to be paid big bucks, to talk about anything. Gore isn't forcing his AGW roadshow down people's throats; people are requesting it, and willing to pay those fees. What does that tell you?

Nothing that hasn't already been repeatedly said.

Gore is a conventionally rich ex-politician championing and supporting the cause of AGW. I guess every fake conspiracy requires a visible target to hiss at.

For a number of reasons previously discussed ad nauseum, Gore has credibility problems for the AGW cause. It's not the people who pay to go see him speak who need convincing, after all. I don't think "fake conspiracy" quite fits those who are critical or question establishment positions on CC. Besides, that label is more commonly directed towards claims of undue influence on the part of the oil industry and the efforts their money supports. Just trying to help you keep the labels straight.

Current TV was probably too classy for Faux News.
Can only help to give Al Jazeera some "class," right?
