Why Climate Change Won't Matter in 20 Years

Here's an interesting article on the subject of Climate Change and Global Warming, and why all the talk and worry won't matter in 20 years... and will matter even less in 100 years.

It's a huge scam. A way to pry and manipulate more tax dollars.

Climate change won't matter in twenty years because we will be too busy worrying about more immediate concerns, like how screwed up the environment got while we were too busy worrying about climate change and ignored the myriad of other ways we were destroying our planet.

Want some swordfish tartar to go with your northern white rhino steak? Good luck with that!

Funny, the rest of the advanced world except for the Republican Party believes in climate change. I guess everybody else is wrong

Re: Why Climate Change Won't Matter in 20 Years

Well, 20, I am not 100% sure. 100 I am sure I will be 100% dead. Hence it will not matter to me.

Every time my neighbour starts his diesel and puffs his smoke into my cockpit, I am for higher emissions limits, penalties and whatever it takes to change his no climate change mentality.

I think pollution will be a far greater factor than climate change. We can put on a coat or sit under an umbrella BUT we all need clean air to breathe and blue ocean to sail on. And these are being devastated at a scary rate.

That's interesting?? Load of old twaddle more like.

Lots on how the future is hard to predict so don't bother trying.

Then predicts the future, we shouldn't worry because someday soon someone will figure out nuclear fusion and we'll have endless cheap energy.

Meanwhile the entire human civilization is completely reliant on masses of energy created by digging up fossilized plants and animal and setting fire to it.

And a few non scientists can't see that it might not be a very good idea...

Same "advanced world" that was convinced the earth was flat? And the Center of the Universe? Same "advanced world" that was sure tomatoes were deadly poison?

The climate changes. Always has. Always will. Spending billions of tax dollars to come to the conclusion that climate changes is pretty much a massive scam. Pick up a textbook from any geology class, any time in history. Go to the Appendix. Look up "ice age". Then try "thaw".

These are climate changes.

Geology students have knows this for a few hundred years. Amazing that uninformed people are astonished to learn this well established and long understood fact.

Lord help us if they ever look up and discover clouds.

And pay attention to the time scales involved.

Re: Why Climate Change Won't Matter in 20 Years

you could get similar graphs by plotting the number of tire revolutions in a month.

Or the number of diapers produced. Or nails driven. Or Reebocks worn out. Or in fact anything.

And of course those graphs are produced by totally objective people......
whose livelihoods just happen to depend on people buying their snake oil.

I crossed the Atlantic last summer. Hardly a day went by that I didn't see some trash in the water. Styrofoam is especially brilliant white when it has been floating at sea for a while.

Climate Change Predictions
Ken,

Thanks for finding the article. I am directly involved in this research. If the world does not lose its resolve then fusion power will be a reality before this century is over. The US should increase its commitment to this project. One would think that the present government would be a strong advocate but sadly the other countries involved such as India and Korea are much more committed than the US. I read about India being maligned in the media because they rely on coal for their increasing energy needs. But they are one of the strongest players in fusion research. They know that the sooner fusion becomes a reality the sooner they can dump coal.

For example: L&T dispatches first consignment of ITER cryostat - The Economic Times

Wind and solar are for dreamers. Unlimited energy that does not pollute, does not clutter the landscape with huge windmills that need constant maintenance and does not require millions of flying creatures to die every year. The math is clearly in favor of fusion.

How do we know fusion works? Answer: The sun comes up every morning.
