Re: Who is getting the Work done?

Headed out to see how the riggers are doing on my new furler and head stay. Oh and new bobstay too. Should be able to sail her home tomorrow. Then its back to the bright work. I was delighted to see Atoll (in another thread) down in the bilge grinding (on what I'm not sure). Woohoo, the rain stopped.

Rigging work complete! Now for return to the reality of heat gun and sand paper. Hope the weather allows progress.

What are you doing with the heat gun and sandpaper?

Re: Who is getting the Work done?

I love the look of bright work. I actually like working with wood finishes, I've been finishing a residential door, and a cedar sunroom all week and really do enjoy the work (especially since it's all new work).

On the boat the only wood on the exterior is the bowsprit, and the tiller. The bowsprits got 5 layers of epoxy paint and the tiller has got 8 coats of epoxy on it. I'm not sure I want any more than that. Of course I am turning the interior into a wooden jewelry box.

Your boat must look outstanding, I'd still love to see it sometime.

Re: Who is getting the Work done?

Well, she's a little mangy right now, but she cleans up well. I had bad luck with epoxy in the past (rapid UV damage) so now its all Cetol. Some shapes like half rounds and window frames its no use putting on too many coats. Its gonna fail so the more you put on the more you gotta take off.

I can't stop looking at Barkley Sound on Navionix.....guess I really have the bug....gotta get this work done so I can go.

Bet I see you out there. Planning a south bound trip first this year.
