Re: What Should You NOT Do on a Boat ?

Never think I can make that time. You Can't.

Never clean the bottom with the engine running.

Don't head south with a northerly wind.

if you come out of your cabin to pee look to make sure your neighbors aren't eating breakfast in their cockpits.

And finally if you are peeing and look down to see a boat under yours and the captain looking up screaming at you: you anchored to close the night before.

Re: What Should You NOT Do on a Boat ?

I don't know what it is this fellow did but I'm sure you're not supposed to do it. A friend told me today he was worked on a boat last week that the fellow had managed to get the anchor rode around his prop shaft. It then began acting like a thread and screwing it's way into the boat. The boat split badly.

I don't know how he did this but I suggest not doing what ever he did.

I learn't very early on not to "speak loudly" to my wife otherwise she just goes below and gets a book out. When she is steering and next thing there is no one there you learn, very, very quickly not to do it again.

Don't release the shore lines unless you know your boat won't be stuck in neutral
