What Kind Are You, Really?

been cruising full time for 8 years. We are just about to leave the US for Latin America, having been here too long

Really trying to figure out what we are. As soon as my wife retires we will probably sell the house and live aboard. Right now we are Coastal Cruisers.

I fit two categories:

I have a boat in charter I used for coastal/island cruising 5-6 weeks per year.

I have another boat I'm outfitting for a couple Bahamas cruises of about 3 months each.

well i'd class myself as a Newb Coastal Cruiser who is Refitting for a cruise (does that ever really end? lol) whilst Actively Cruising

I am a former live aboard offshore cruiser sailor who now is a weekender and vacation sailor.

You need to add another category as I would think many others might be in "my" category... they got into sailing... weekend and coastal cruising, then took the leap and became full time live aboard for a year of more and then returned to weekend and coastal cruising.

I have a friend who is a real sailor without a boat and SOOPB and is thinking about buying again but hates all the maintenance and expense and non sailing time, he's not in love with messing about on boats as he used to be.

I don't know if I could face staring over again with a new boat either.

I can faithfully say I am in the wonderful catagory of being a FTC

The only other catagories that are any good are those about to go cruising: They don't know all the crook bits yet;

and

CLODS: They have forgotten all the crook bits and just look back, in their dotage, at swaying palm trees and scantily clad native girls. (They never actually saw such sceens, but the mind plays tricks!)
