I dunno. If I wanna hear about what you women talk about I woulda gone with you. But I'd be bored.

So, the moral of the story is BS is in the ears of the BSed. If its your sort of BS its what makes the world go round. If its not your sort of BS you probably think its BS.

I love the BS here Except for the stuff I don't listen to. Thats BS.

Thinking about Janice's comments a bit more - I think she does have a point, but the answer to CF not meeting expectations is to help mould it in the direction sought, via contributions.

If folks want to talk about matters that are more relevent to or principally of interest to folks "out there" then I see no bar in doing so. Given the subject matter of CF that would give pretty much carte blance

Start the threads (build it?!) and they will come. or not

Price may well be some (? ) chattering around the edges, but that's the internet for ya

Dave,

You are correct. We don't steer this ship from the moderator helm. We barely pick up the trash and clean up. It's the little bit we do that allows good things to happen on their own on a good day. If we shut down a thread or mop up some spam it just keeps the place looking nice. It's up to the members to actually be nice and be productive. You get what you give. Members are mostly nice and if it wasn't true this forum would have died a very long time ago.We have something at CF that works but we have instances that don't. It's the way the real world is and we reflect the best and the worst parts of people. Some people have bad days and some have them more often than most. Many people communicate well and other find difficulty. We can all only read between the lines and find the parts we understand. It leaves enough doubt that you need give a little more than you get. Given your more than 2200 posts I would say you already have the idea. How others get there is different.

Paul,

Spot-on, noting the last sentence has always been one of my personal beliefs. Thanks for the great site!

I will quickly mention that as a classic boat owner I have always admired Gozzard yachts. Nevertheless, as mentioned above instead, instead of being rude and hijacking or disturbing this thread this might be a nice topic for another discussion?

Most of my forum learning was done elsewhere over many years prior to arriving at CF. I still have the lifetime bans to prove it Nowadays I take the hint after the 3rd

Knowing the rules (written and not) is one thing. following is another...........

But CF stands head and shoulders above every other forum I have ever been on for how it is managed Even if (because of ) my (and others) ranting at the moon and all points east has to be undertaken elsewhere

i think people on CF have been really helpful to me, through my posts and reading tons of other people's. it takes a minute to learn how to handle the roughness of forums, but that's the internet.

although, the mix of the ferocity that forums invoke mixed with ol salts does make some very entertaining posts...

Well looks like the grumpies have hit the forum again..I have written and erased about three posts intent on boxing some ears.. alas don't wanna add to the crap.

So what did we do last time to get back to the nice utopia of helpful and encouraging interactions?

Well some kid today a 3rd grader punched a friend of my sons. My boy got up and pulled the child who was aggressive off. Im kinda proud of him. The parents are all freaking out because this other kid is agressive and Im worried that they forget hes a kid too. I want him around not going to dismiss him yet. Hopefully he will learn to communicate. His odds will be much less if hes dismissed.
Im going somewhere here just not sure where.
Also this week I was working with a company who was really screwing up No one wanted to screw up they just had a really bad way of communicating.. Although I wanted to tear some new holes in the transmission end of the telephone I didn't. I kicked the **** out of a exterior rated fire door. No dents in the door but my foot is still sore. There wasn't one person who didn't want the best for the other except maybe the bully 3rd grader. Everyone I met this week really wanted the best outcome.Poor communication seems to have really fouled things up. Probably not so different on a forum like this. Not sure I see the rude just some opinions that are expressed with emotion. My skins a bit thick and some of this is true if it upsets you go kick a door really friggin hard.

Sorry for the "box some ears" comment (sorry for saying it, not for wanting to do it).

So I will tell a joke:

what do ya call a grumpy cow?
