I feel like it's me versus the deep-set grain of my family and the very culture I grew up in, (Landlocked Midwest).
Anyone else get this type of response from their families? Maybe even their own spouse?
I find it hard just to get my family interested in spending a day or two on the water in the Caribbean.
Don't get me wrong, I'm very strongwilled and will be sailing long-term within the next few years whatever the cost, but it certainly makes me feel like an outcast sometimes.

PlumKrazy,
You may be Plum Crazy, but not for wanting to pursue
boating... It is all about perception...
This comes up so often in our travels I was recently compelled to write a [very] brief
blog post on this topic, in case it is of interest...
My Admiral also recently posted on this topic
illustrating some common differences in perception....
Best wishes with your adventures!
Cheers!
