What Do You Do for a Living?

Great thing about posting late is i get to comment on everything that came B4. I grew up In Mountain Ranch California near San Andreas, where My first Job was at age 9 working At the Aardvark Garden Center (Family Business). Learned to Ski at Bear Valley wearing jeans and a t-shirt on that lovely sierra cement, you learn not to fall really quick on that stuff. Age 11 for a few or so years later was a missionary in El Rosario and augmented my income working for friends of the family for 20 peso's a day or free diving and fishing at Punta Baja. Next line of work was Volunteering for soup kitchens and food banks till I was split between High school and collage so focused on doing that to make sure I completed high school on time since I wasn't in school for 5th-10th grade. Tried going to Vocational Rehab after high school but they couldn't train me due to poor health. So I got a job in security and that ended in a heart attack. Did valet Parking that ended in multiple rounds of pneumonia and bronchitis that ended that job. Few years later got a job moving cars off the dock in saint johns, oregon, that job ended when I wore myself down to the point I would have multiple respiratory problems during the day where i could easily breath but wasn't getting enough oxygen and blacking out allot. So now I'm watching my grandma in the mornings to make sure she does ok till she wakes up and starts acting normal and doing odd jobs for family up here making about $80-$140 for gas and food a month.


And... I must have been an evil almond grower in my past life because when I reincarnated I was nuts.

I thought it was a very good portrayal by Claire Danes. Dr. Grandin, being one of my professors, was quite an influence during my studies at Fort Collins. She is a most extraordinary woman.

I think this is just the tip of the iceberg.

I can't claim tutorial-ship from a class act such as Dr. Grandin, but rather Paul Leyda for Celestial Navigation, and he is an instructor at CMA due to a "mishap" in a harbor. Note the ship in the background, that was the 2nd Golden Bear I trained on. I was in the very lucky class that for our Freshman cruise aboard the old steam turbine Golden Bear, then Senior year aboard the diesel Golden Bear.

I was born with f*ck all and still have most of it left.
Grew up on a farm, failed at school so went into farming, eventually moved sideways into fresh produce procurement and agronomy, saw the light, became a partner in an aircraft maint and restoration company, left after I found my partner embezzling the tax man, started up on my own in agricultural engineering, business colapsed after the foot and mouth crisis of 2001 and ive bummed about ever since.

Lifes what you do whlist your waiting to die. Make it a good one cos if its been a good one, your not coming back. Only the trash gets recycled, the good always pass GO, and get straight to Nirvana.

Paper Boy - 2 routes + streetcorner hawker (Herald! Late Extra!) Love the old ladies in RACV (US = AAA) dispatch. Sat on their lap, gave em a women's weekly and they tipped like I was a pole dancer...
Lighting technician - victoria ballet & others...
Restaurant career - dishwasher, veggie chopper, salad chef, grill, banquet (300 meals in 5 minutes) Wrong side of the kitchen door on New Years... Kowing how to cook a lady dinner still impresses em...
