Hilarious.

I'll do my part with the lobster. I lived with a farmer in NH and his son was a lobsterman in ME. My first lobster feed.

Just ate piles of lobster - crawfish we called it growing up in the Bahamas - in Cuba the other week. Even though I like it, it is not as good as the northern stuff. Just looking ahead...does the world need more lobsterman? I had a lobstergal work for me on the farm a few years ago, from Casco area. Great farmhand.

Been flying for a living for 29 years. I think 30 will be enough. Sail the great lakes in the summer, work the winters doing something else.

Re: What Do You Do for a Living?

Dandelion picker, shovel (hand)operator, truck driver, fast food order taker, advanced to fast food cook (kinda), gas station attendent, deck officer (deep sea), UPS driver, Chief Mate, Unlimited Master, USCG licensed ship's pilot, retired, life coach, charter boat captain, small passenger boat captain, volunteer firefighter/fireboat driver and now am VP of E (everything else the P doesn't want to do!) soon to be marketing cloud based nutrition software for the Admiral's biz.

The idea was to work so I didn't have to, so I could go sailing. I'll probably not get so much sailing in this year but it's my choice, not some boss's choice... mostly, kinda, sorta, pretty much.... but I get to sleep with the boss!

I am amazed at how many pilots there are. How about "Flying high and Flying Low" Or "We go everywhere-Let me show you how"

Hi Dr. newt, the union MM&P (Masters, Mates & Pilots) would be harbor pilots, but you are correct, the forum also seems to have a lot of both types of pilots.

Re: What Do You Do for a Living?

Presently, I'm an emergency physician (since 2000).

Before that, minister/pastor for 17 years.

Mixed into the years before medicine... worked at Burger King, drove school bus, carpet installater, warehouse worker, gas station attendant, milk deliverer, box factory worker, secretary, salesman, carpenter/contractor, newspaper deliverer, custom drapery installer... and probably another 1/2 dozen or so other jobs I can't (or don't want to) remember.
