You say that in the way I feel about the place.
I just love the Island.
EXPENSIVE boating but the Island is like home.

Still remember the Tennis Cup (Davis or something) kerfuffle 20 odd years ago when Mallorca was chosen for the final (I think it was) between Spain and Germany...
Spain complained Germany had been given the Home advantage..

Re: What did we Learn from the 60's?

I heard that the 60s are important because were were no sailboats during the decade. That's why in the 70s there was the Love Boat!

pirate Re: What did we Learn from the 60's?

In 1967 HMS Aurora was passing Tarifa... on its way back to Gib.. when we passed a 40ft wooden gentleman's sailing yacht... he lazily reached back to the stern and dipped his Red Duster as we went by...
I was the Ordinary seaman that had to run down from the bridge wing and back to the stern to dip our White ensign in response to the courtesy..
Been.. trying that myself over the years.. no joy..
Either need a bigger boat.. or a bigger ensign.. could use it for a main..
