I'm in a semi-classical phase, but other groups I enjoy listening to (depending on mood, obviously) are Blind Guardian (speed/thrash metal), Iced Earth (trudgy, power metal), Counting Crows, Crash Test Dummies, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Pearl Jam and that collaborative group Celtic Woman.

Oh yeah, and Scalliwag by Gaelic Storm. Love that when I'm going about 8 knots.

I carry an old hard drive iPod that has most of my music on it. It's got a variety of genres and decades. I'll play that through the car stereo when we have guests or the mood suits me. The SSB also gets usage as I listen to the shortwave broadcasts at night.

But mostly I enjoy the silence.

I'm with you, Cap'n. I listen to music all the time, except under sail. I can listen to music anytime, but I can only listen to the wind and water once the sails are hoisted.

Bob James, Roy Orbison, Marshall Tucker, Outlaws, Tchaikovsky, Stan Getz, Bill Monroe, Rush, John Prine.

Really? Our boat has a theme song, good for under 15 knots apparent
No, really.

Led Zeppelin has always been my favorite. However, lately I've been playing a lot of Kings of Leon, The Killers, The Raconteurs, The Whigs, Drive-By Truckers, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Band of Skulls, Cold War Kids and The Black Keys.

I've been debating over whether or not to get the Neon Trees album because I really liked that song Animal, but it's been so overplayed on the radio that I'm about burned out on it already.

Black Keys:

Cold War Kids:

The Raconteurs:

Neon Trees:

Mostly 80's alternative rock and hard rock from the 70's and 80's on Sirius Radio. Otherwise, I will listen to most anything.

I like the Neon trees (bonus points for having a female drummer) and the Black Keys and their wacked video!
