Well Holy Crap We Cut the Docklines and are Officially Landless

It's been like 96 hours so far and it's been insane, not to mention the months and weeks work beforehand. Started off with a fizzle but life has been steadily improving. We're putzing around Catalina this summer to dial some stuff in before we go south into Mexico. Myself, my wife, and our two year old daughter.

Really wanted to say thank you to this place. Cruisersforum can drive me insane sometimes but if it wasn't for a lot of the advice and input from people on this board I really don't think I would have gotten to this point. I've done a lot of sailing and I do a lot of boat handling, but "cruising" itself, and I still don't like that word for some reason, is a whole unique set of challenges. It's been wonderful to have so many helpful people and their advice.

I'm in Two Harbors right now and I'll put my little Cruisersforum burgee thing on the spreader.

Hey, if you're headed to Mexico you're going the wrong way - LOL...

Congratulations Eric - You should be an inspiration to many would be cruisers. I remember one of the earliest posts I read was some dude upside down is his bilge rebuilding the toilet system on his boat - I literally thought "holy crap", what a PITA that is...

Anyway congrats to you on getting out there.

Here's a little blast from the past gift lest we ever forget...

Aloha and congratulations! Hope you get over this direction when you're through with Mexico. Permanent moorings are hard to find but temporaries can be had.
kind regards,

Good for you Eric, congratulations, or should I say felicitaciones now that you're Mexico bound! Wish I was accompanying you, only a couple of years left...

Just in time for the elections.

How long at sea?

This will be a time your daughter will remember for all her life.

Fair winds.

Good for you! Always remember schedules do not work real well when cruising and are not the same as weather windows. Fair winds!
