Show me that in action. Your only hope is the right people in government.

Next you'll tell us that the 2nd amendment bit about an armed populace is an effective hedge against government tyranny. hee hee.

Was there ever an amendment about anchor size? Just covering the bases...

Believing in God/Creator/Evolution...it doesn't matter because an athiest has natural law protecting his rights just as a muslim, christian, jew, or liberal does. Believing in God is not a prerequsite for having rights inherent to Man.

Natural law is the guy with the biggest club/wallet/military wins. Ask any capitalist. The rights you refer to are a human construct, not a "natural" thing. Smart people got together, and decided that these rights are ethically justifiable, and would be the foundation of a new and strong form of republic. And they were right, pretty much, weren't they?

You may believe the stoplight is controlled by God, not a microcontroller purchased and installed by a city government, but you still stop at the red, right?

No not really...it's just what happens when I'm left alone on the boat and it's too cold outside to get farther away from diesel heater near the desk.

Which exatly proves my point...given the bloody history of the 20th century...can you show us examples of these 'right people in Government" that we all should be putting our hope in...ha ha ha ...come one...that one was WAY to easy even for a Bozo like me. You really want to put you faith in Bush, Obama, Bush, Clinton, Reagan...need I go on...no, not really. You understand even if you are too thick to admit it.

Take care amigo.

The Government is the people, that's who voted in the politicians, so, blame yourselves for what you get. You want democracy, that's what it is, if you have found a better way that has empirical proof then what is it. Grumble grumble, never satisfied, jealous, complain about what others have, it's always someone elses fault ..yada yada yada, get to work, work harder smarter and be thankful you don't live in Iran, Iraq, Syria and so on...the internet has given you all too much time to complain instead of finding ways to better your condition, get on with it !!!

this is a boating forum, makes me wonder what some might post on a anti-gov't etc. forum

some of the posts make me wonder whether the posters are ever happy, or are they just angry miserable people all the time

Yep...we should have just went the logical approach of Single Payer and told the insurance Companies "Game over...adios", rather we wrote their profits right into LAW...

I've said it from the start of this Obamacare mess.....
The US had a once in a generation chance to change our healthcare delivery system but now it is so F-ed up that we blew the chance. Obamacare will be whiped away like a loose bowel movement come the 2014 and 2016 elections. The bummer is that now when anyone tries to fix the system, people will say, "oh ya...like the Obamacare debacle" and then no politician will touch the issue for fear of losing the next election.

I go to Mexico for my Health care anyway...but what about the folks that can't? They are screwed.

I don't know how it is for you, but most of the people I know already wait 6-9 months in the US for a physical. Except for emergencies I can never get an appointment for the same week.

I cannot complain about the timing. I hurt my ankle October 16, didnt see a dr until Nov.19 or so. Just had Mri last Monday and Surgery this past Thursday. In all my years in the Us I have never had a really long wait for treatment.
My biggest gripe and reason for this post was thst a cash customer can find better prices in some or many instances, and that the health care system rapes the insurance companies. I think so.e interesting comparisons have been made to other countries. It is unfortunate.it turned political etc..

I have all of my medicals for work done in loozyanna. I've never had to wait more than 9 MINUTES for a medical. Maybe your friends should move there!

Overseas is the way to go. I have my physicals in Thailand now. You can make the appointments online and no waiting what so ever. And best of all, 25-33% of the cost here in the US. They have a big medical tourism business.
