Typing Degrees? How?

When I need one I google 'degree' and copy the first degree that pops up in the search and paste it in.

I use the degree symbol a lot. I have configured Alt+d as a shortcut.

You can create any ascii character by holding down the ALT key while you type in the code on the number pad. The ascii code for the degree symbol is 167, so hold down the alt key and type 167 on the numberpad.

In windows you type

hold the ALT key and type 176

for the ° symbol
