Top tip for Atlantic Crossing - the Hellish Squall gag

My very best idea whilst actually making the westbound crossings is the "Hellish Squall Gag" - try this perhaps second week onwards but BEFORE the first squall: wait until close to the end of your night watch, and then throw a few buckets of seawater around the cockpit and perhaps over yourself, throw some lines around too, and the buckets, and anything else, make it a complete mess, AND half-rip the sleeve off an old t-shirt and then put it on. When the next on watch comes up you sit there in middle of the fake wreckage looking dazed with ripped shirt just like in the films and (esp if you're the skip) you say something like"well, at least you're okay and that's the main thing" and wide eyed s/he asks what the (non-existent) dreadful squall was like. Teehee.

Ahem. Not sure I oughta be allowed out sometimes...
