Whilst not wishing to comment on the specific conditions being shown on the video, it does give a more than adequate demonstration of the difficulty in recovering a man overboard who has become exhausted.

Looks to me as if they've never looked at the stern of that vessel....I'd be willing to bet large sums of money there's a sugar scoop swim platform on the end of each hull.

He'd have an easier time of it if they handed him the end of a halyard. One can pretty well walk up a wall on a line, but the trick is at the top where the angles become all wrong. As they would figure out if it weren't for the Mojito Factor.

Helps if your shorts stay up too.

That's a pretty nice boat handled/owned/chartered by those that don't even know a few basic MOB skills. Funny video in an anchorage, catastrophic at sea.

This is precisely why I carry a large fish gaff at all times.

That's alright, they've probably been sailing all week with the fenders hanging overboard. Or as my son says "Dad, you never know when a dock might just jump up in front of you".

AT the dock, they're fenders, but if they're still hanging there away from the dock, they rapidly become "Boat Boogers".
