I've never had a reason to like ABBA, but now I do. I'll look again, when I find a wayward cd in some uncivilized or lonely anchorage somewhere. Boatman, may the gods smile on you and all your endeavors over the next year, and decade, and many decades ahead of you. And for all of you/us at CruisersForum, may we all stay on the right side of the wave for at least another year. I love this place. I have learned a lot here, enough, perhaps, that I can survive another year afloat.

And I suspect, that during the big changes that seem destined many places, CF will remain a fine touchstone for sorting the wheat from the chaff.

Hau'oli Makahiki Hou
- Happy New Year. The western Christmas and New Year fell during this same time of the year that the Hawaiians traditionally honored the earth for giving them plenty to eat. This period of resting and feasting was called Makahiki (mah-kah-HEE- kee). It lasted for 4 months, and no wars or conflicts were allowed during this time. Because makahiki also means "year", the Hawaiian phrase for "Happy New Year" became "Hau'oli (happy) Makahiki (year) Hou (new)"(how-OH-lee mah-kah-hee-kee ho)

Tidings of comfort and joy, comfort and joy...

Peace
