Theft - Another One

We left the boat after an overnight Saturday before last. I went to the boat on the following Tuesday and found my chart plotter had been stolen. Marina is fenced,well lit and has security at night that makes rounds (click/link a button thingy). No other theft in that time period known about as of yet. I don't think they spent more than a minute on board the way they cut and snapped the mounting board and ripped the wiring out. Now they have a nice Garmin 5212. With chip.

I guess I am glad I have insurance. They will be getting back to me..........

Me too but it won't help fast enough. We had planned a two week cruise starting this Wednesday.

Sorry to hear about this. I'm just now getting over being angry about the theft that happened on my boat. It's not so much about the money as it is the inconvenience and feeling of being violated. Whoever hit you was a pro. My knucklehead(s) was/were amateurs. Not much you can do if somebody is determined to rip you off.

I feel that you should reveal where this occured........only with wide disemination of that type of information, will others question the facility as to their "security"and how they intend to deal with any problems.

Wow. I had my 4208 mounted on the pedestal on a bracket with those hand knobs I started getting nervous thinking its just to easy to grab even though the boat is moored. Spent this last Saturday through bolting it to the bridge deck bulkhead. Wouldn't have thought one mounted like yours was at risk. That sucks.

Port Hudson Marina in Hudson FL. does not have cameras. They manage another marina that does. They said that the cameras are useless as the thieves know to wear hoods and such.

my dad had the outboard stolen off his dinghy, what was secured in it cradle on the bow of his boat, in a slip, in the marina...

suck bad. hopefully insurance covers it and doesnt find you in violation of some act of god clause
