The Yacht Week Abomination to Sailing

I've been learning to sail in the BVI and ran into this abomination to sailing called The Yacht Week. Gives sailing a bad name these are nothing but rich kids pay money to get drunk on yachts. Thoughts? None but the skipper on this even sail.

The good news is unlike being at home were you are stuck with your neighbour, lifting the anchor and sailing down the coast will remove yourself from the problem pretty quickly.

If someone else is buying the booze how bad could it be? For all the solitude that comes with sailing a little crazy is refreshing. Maybe Anchor far away and dinghy into the madness?

Re: The Yacht Week Abomination to Sailing

I've been to the BVI a few times, but this was the first time I've heard of Yacht Week so I did some Googling. Seems to be a bit like Spring Break in Ft Lauderdale and Daytona when I was in college, waaaaay back in the '60s, except we didn't have sailboats.

They even have a website... Sailing Week

And a promotional video...
