The Moon 30,000 miles nearer to us Today!

The Moon is 30,000 miles closer to us today for the 1st time since 1992, I am looking at it in clear Skies of the coast of Southern Spain, what a sight, it is perhaps 3 times as bright as normal and it seems a little larger! If you are sailing over night you are in for a real treat!

So it seems Im not the only one who is seduced by the moon. I feel its magentic attraction and the more I think about it, the more intrigued I become

I have always been a big fan of the moon. Something nostalgic from my teenage years. Must be the craters...

Re: The Moon 30,000 miles nearer to us Today!

I remember being teen, spending a night on a boat on a lake, watching moon rising above trees and listening to Moonlight Shadow, which was then hitting the charts. Magic moments...

Tried to get some pictures of tonight's moon, but it is Obscured By Clouds.

In the long run, the moon has been getting farther away from Earth. It had been much closer, and eventually the moon will leave its orbit of the Earth.

Went out and saw it with the wife and kid tonight. It could have been the low angle, but it did look impressively largish. It's currently making the raccoons in the backyard squint.
