Re: The Mallorca Squad

Ken, I am assuming that you will not be sailing the boat to the States for the boat show?

Re: The Mallorca Squad

As for me, Im much involved in a new business and it leaves time for sailing with friends on their boats. The strange thing is that I think Im actually sailing more than on my own boats...

Too much time spent fixing or polishing...

We will most likely haul the boat out near Venice, Italy at the end of September.

We are in Providencia Colombia right now, a small island north of Panama. Where are you? R

Hey Robert, glad to hear you're still kicking around. How long will you be there?

Re: The Mallorca Squad

Sounds about right Hoppy. The only question I have is--Isn't this the norm in much of the Med?

That's right on spot that article. Its not common knowledge, but Chopin was murdered by the Mafia because of his boat slip. The guy wouldn't give it up, and when he didn't sign up for the gangs delivery and bottom scrubbing services, well...you know the rest. I personally wouldn't go there. Plus there are Spanish people if you get my drift.

Re: The Mallorca Squad

SO.
I have been living in Sevilla for nearly 3 months now. As much as I love Palma, Seville has managed to capture my heart.

I spend a lot of time in Cadiz. The city is beautiful and has a long seafaring history from the times of Pirates and fighting the English on the sea. I would like to confirm that in one restaurant at least, the art of piracy is still alive but the English prevailed and won...

For mere males of a non hispanic background contemplating a relationship with a woman of the aforesaid culture, be warned that your world will be turned upside down and that you will discover your true manliness and abilities to cope with what life throws at you. My other half is Cuban. 60 % pure angel and 40% of volatility and emotional rawness. I have learned to ignore nearly everything that is said or implied when the 40% is invoked... It is the only way to survive..

Not too much boating going on at the moment as I work on a clinic and a medical teaching faculty. Yet the time I have to visit either the river in Sevilla or the Marina in Cadiz is well spent in peaceful contemplation and happiness at looking at the boats. It is giving me time to analyse what catamaran would suit my needs best in this fantastic sailing area

I will take a flight to Palma at some stage and visit with friends. Not a lover of the city in tourist season but I can cope for a week.

Whee! Weavis has found his better monkey half. He will soon wear tassels on his boots and a sportive mustashio.

I, on the other hand, rot half a world away, eating oatmeal and feeding rabbits and crow-ponies. The rain has stopped. Soon, the droughts will arrive. A long hot summer cometh.

Carry on man. Remember that famous story about the slaves building the palace to King James I.

Slave 1: Hey.
Slave 2: What?
Slave 1: I forgit. How big is the King's cubit?
Slave 2: As big as he wants.

Hi back to you PC we were there for 10 days or so, wonderful diving and great people. We rented scooters and toured around and then climbed to the highest peak (1200ft) for some photo ops. We then sailed to the Bay Islands Honduras, we arrived in Utila last night and are just in relax mode but will spend a week here, no cars on the island. Leaving next for Belize for a couple of months and will then backtrack to Gautamala where we will go up the Rio Duluce river to a large inland lake and leave the boat there for the hurricane season. Is all well with you guys and is everyone healthy? Carla is celebrating her big 50 birthday this week, time doesn't stand still.
