Road driving is requiring a whole set of defensive tactics as you state, and a loud 'presence' is just one of them....

The little ding ding bell on a bike is long redundant in cities...

People using cell phones, not thinking or just being selfish asses walk on the cycle path and literally dont hear an approaching bike......... now they will.. Seville being in Andalucia is not up to date with most things and continue to use tried and useless methods.... YOu cant even buy an electronic horn here.

(Stealing bikes in the city is a national pasttime... and yet again, they dont sell the latest security products.....no post locks for saddle, no wheel locks, no proper Abus or Kryptonite locks..... These stand up to most things except angle grinders and slow the thief down.... If you have a 1K bike then to me spending 100-150 on security is part of the purchase price.)
Having our bikes stolen is not an issue with the Bromptons. They fold up so small and quickly.... we just take them into the stores with us and use the trailer to do our shopping. Regarding bike paths: Watching out for other people is just part of the game. Learn to do a "trackstand" which will come in handy in congested traffic.

I have been overworking the last couple of weeks and not getting much sleep. Last night I managed to get to bed earlyish but sleep was not forthcoming...

I found this video, put it on and went out like a light. Slept real good.

You don't lift it on the center stand, to get it onto the center stand you don't lift the bike at all, it's a pull up on the seat so that you can push down harder with your foot on the stand, this levers the stand under the bike, and pull backwards a little on the bike too as it starts to come up on the stand. Stand is great for chain maintenance and of course more stable than the side stand.
Take Hercules to lift the bike onto the stand

I've had a few bikes in the past.. so I know how it works.. including a Katana 1100 but the problem with this bike is there is nowhere to get a grip.. its all plastic fairing and the grab bar is to far back to be any help.
Have tried the front brake bounce as well.. no good.
Stock photo.. mines black and gold.

Re: The Mallorca Squad

So as I tied up to the side of the river about 10 km below Sevilla, I spied a nice restaurant offering burgers.. I just have one question...

Winter in your part of the world too I guess.

Me, I'm hibernating. (When not searching for elusive ancestors or watching the gong show south of our border.)
