Yep. I decided there was to be one place that was not political or vitriolic in nature for us Med sailors. Its like a little haven for us.
I provisioned last night, wasnt hard, just fill the empty wine bottle spaces. and checked the rigging and am currently off Cala Figuera with my buddy John, heading to Porto Colom. both well recovered from our previous excursion
Light winds, coffee on and one motor pushing us. Johns wife will meet us with the car wherever we decide to make the stop. We are under strict instructions to not make a repeat of last time. She is still undecided whom is the bad influence on the other...........

Re: The Mallorca Squad
Great sail the other day.
Novia joining me for a few days today, that is if she ever gets to the airport. She is the opposite of me in that regard, thinks time is flexible... now she is having to drive from Cadiz to Seville instead of taking the train....
I did tell her.
So tomorrow, I will be showing her Catamarans in Palma so she can get an idea of what is available and whether or not it is a liveaboard situation or as a heavily used weekender. I think I prefer the 30 foot range myself and go for extended vacations. It will be dependent on whether she gets queasy or not and whether the 6 year old hurls..
We will see.
California style chicken Caesars Salad.... needed more anchovy in the dressing but lovely..

Re: The Mallorca Squad
Why on earth do the Spanish insist on putting tomatoes on Caesar salads??? I have yet to taste a descent Caesar on Mallorca.

I think you will find that very little in the international accepted cuisine world is emulated well in Mallorca.
This is a Caesars salad to me

If it comes with a remote control then I'm in! With 5" of snow on the ground & freezing temps here, I'm so bored I'll run it in the bathtub.

Re: The Mallorca Squad
saltymonket think you should get some soup and tea in a thermos and go to your boat with a space heater and sit and relax. Soon spring comes. Then you will be sorry because of all the work!
This advice will cost 3 bananas

For such sage advice, you're selling yourself short. I'll give you 4 bananas.

Re: The Mallorca Squad
When dating a Cuban woman.
Ask if they have low blood sugar. When the hunger alters the chemistry, a change occurs in 4 minutes. The male will be accused of a lot of things. The Males mind will be saying " WHAT THE F*%$?!" and have no clue what has happened. There will tears and anger and irritability. (Not from the male this time).
Remedy: get to nearest cafe as soon as you can and order everything on the menu and let her work through it. The insults lessen with every bite. Then take home and let her sleep for 1 hour minimum. During that time, go to nearest supermarket and purchase energy bars. I put two in plastic bags. I placed 2 packs in my coat pocket and two packs in her purse. When we go out, I set my alarm for 2 hours and 45 minutes from the last time she ate.
We missed breakfast on the day she had to fly back to Seville. I was getting anxious about her not eating when she pulled out a bag with the bars in it. She had a beautiful smile on her face. "Gracias mi amor" she said while planting kisses all over my face. " Eat" I said..." oh dear Lord please eat".
An interesting time....
