Re: The Mallorca Squad

Everything is fine. Getting started on the pre-launch projects, two weeks should be ample time to get them finished.

1. Buff hull
2. New bottom paint
3. Install second watermaker
4. Install Bamar spinnaker furling system
5. Clean sails
6. Measure and order solar array.
7. Lube windlass and cut off rusty first anchor rode link
Already completed
1. Replace halogen bulbs with LED bulbs
2. Install new refrigeration pump

Glad to hear the boat was safe over the winter and all is well. Have fun with your projects. Is Mrs Kenomac with you?

Pammymac arrives from the U.S. on June 8 along with two friends who've been touring Europe for a month.

Doesn't everyone have two?

One watermaker is magical, two watermakers are...... heavenly.

Re: The Mallorca Squad

'Just spent five hours rebuilding our primary Jabsco electric bilge pump, the pulley driven kind. What a PITA. Last season it broke on the last three days, so I had to substitute another pump onboard.

The first three hours went OK, but it took some of my circus skills as a contortionist to get it in and out. Luckily, I didn't drop anything down the black hole of a bilge. So when finished, I sat down at the table to have a beer, and there before me..... two screws and a brand new looking rubber part that looked like it belonged inside the pump. CRAP!

'Looked up the expanded diagram on the Internet, realized I'd put half of it together bass-akwards and left out three parts. Well.... It only took me two hours to do it all over again. Now it works.

More like open heart surgery.... I put one of the valves in upside down. Lucky I caught it before the boat came off bypass.

Mechanical medicine is not one of my favourites. Once had a patient with a swelling groin and pus..... opened it and found surgical effluvia not removed and stitched in.

Lovely...........

Amazing what you learn on CF eh?
