re: The Mallorca Squad

I'm trying to get back there now after visiting Italy and Sicily. In Sardinia at the moment but there's some crazy waves between here and Palma.
Hopefully it'll calm down soon. It's not that late in the year is it?

re: The Mallorca Squad

It's the 3+m waves on the Sunday that worry me.
Was thinking of setting off early on Sunday from here and getting in early Tuesday. Nice 16-20 knots behind me the whole way and hopefully nothing above 2.5m.
I guess 2.5-3m isn't that bad but I'd rather have less.

Will do. I just don't want to leave it too late trying to get to Gib. I won't risk it if things look too bad though. Every morning the Gribs are different.

Yup. Very unsettled here on Mallorca. We'll get a couple of days sailing in today & tomorrow before the heavy rain hits Sunday. Let us know when you get in Simon, & where you'll be.

If only we could swap boats. We're aiming to get to Sardinia in the next month, in Lagos at the moment.

I would try to get to the Strait quickly (without taking chances), prevailing wisdom seems to be to clear it before the end of September.

It's very good weather for that next week, by the looks of it, but that doesn't help you, of course. Fair winds!

Hopefully high five you as we pass each other in a few weeks. Which route are you planning?

Yep were pressing on as much as we can. Just need these 2.5-3. waves to calm down a bit.

Pretty much yours in reverse: Likely Lagos - Almerimar in 1 stint leaving Sunday, stay there for a day or two, then Cartagena (2 days), Alicante (visit Volvo Ocean Race for a day), Ibiza, Mallorca, Alghero. I'll keep an eye out.

Wish we were there ... We have a chance of getting that 4-lettered word here this weekend. No, not rain.

Just before we left we found one of our favorite chefs in a new restaurant on the Via Roma. It's called Nefertiti, and is worth the visit.

Enjoy!
