Re: Taking a Fox Sailing

Charlie - that tale made me on my commute home on BART. Looks like a fox to me.

Moreover, it doesn't look like a coyote pup to me, either. Quite the adventure, Charlie.

Good instructions relative to the coolant, as well.

Cheers, mate,

Ann

Re: Taking a Fox Sailing

@ Gamayun Animal control said they would release him on one of the beaches. @bad wabbit. Machine works. Had to replace the hook. @Ann. Made for a full night. @Hylite interesting changes going on in the area. There are large flocks of turkeys that have cosen the land behind the condos @ RYC as their habitat. With food come prey. I'm pretty sure it was a fox but not an expert. If you look closely at the picture there is a bushy tail.

As for the coolant. I flushed the engine three times with water prior to filling with purple coolant. In thinking about it though I added coolant to the overflow using the same coolant I had used for years.

Re: Taking a Fox Sailing

I have foxes and coyotes in my yard quite often. That is a Fox.
They are good at hiding so it doesn't surprise me that the wouldn't be seen there often.
I would second the recommendation to thoroughly wash everything in the berth. Foxes carry fleas, ticks, and a lot of disease. A taxidermist friend won't touch them unless they have been frozen solid.Click image for larger version

I will not ask why you know your taxidermist's views on working "with" them.

Re: Taking a Fox Sailing

Hang on there, SD Christian, he didn't say "my" taxidermist, he said a taxidermist friend. Can't help what kind of employment or hobby his friend has!

Thanks for the defense Ann:-)
But he is a friend and also did some work for me. A black bear rug. He does great work actually. I know some people are against hunting and that is fine. I do it for my own reasons, not theirs.
There are people who are against sailing and living on a boat too. I also don't listen to them;-)

I laughed when I read this post: the squirrel cop story was truly a great one.

Having had a number of different dogs and my Ex wife letting them on the bed it didn't cross my mind. I slept in the bed one night and then took the sheets home to wash them because it was time not because of the fox. I guess I should do the blankets as well.

Re: Taking a Fox Sailing

Looks like a grey fox to me. I have several which visit all summer. When the vixen has kits she arrives at any time during the day and waits for something to bring home to her family.
