Takes Kids from Wife, Steals Sailboat, Flees

I didn't see this posted yet, if I missed it, just delete it.

A guy took his kids from his ex-wife, stole a sailboat, and is apparently fleeing the country

Here's the story

If Mexico is his goal, you would think he would have stolen a boat a little closer. Hope they are safe.

This guy sounds irresponsible and nuts! He is definitely endangering the lives of those two children. I hope they find him before they are harmed.

I can see it now, cops chasing a sailboat !
And we thought the low speed chase between the cops and O.J. was ridiculous...

If he's smart he's going well offshore and just hauling ass down to Mexico. Going to be a long trip.

Good reporting. No vessel name, no description other than "44 sail". Should be easy to spot in Southern California.

Apparently the USCG is monitoring the boat from the air, having spotted it off San Mateo.

Yes indeed, except it was his boat, not someone elses.

I did a search, this story says the boat has been spotted, and gives these details:

The stolen sailboat is a white
Hunter 41 with blue canvas, christened "Unleashed." It has a hull number of HUN41366C707.

unfortunately on cf us experienced sailors are faced daily with the questions of clueless wannabees, helping them generally leads to them not killing themselves.......and putting the lives of rescue personel at risk.....sometimes
