I think that being on this thread, it is step one in the process of life of a cruising soul.
Here, you already know someone is committed to a boating lifestyle. The freedom that it brings to one's soul, the enlightenment of it all. Whether it is perfect sailing or a hurricane, they will probably endure.
As you course your way through the seas, and through this life, many people of both gender will cross your bow and wake. Those that do with cannonfire and profanity, well, Davy Jones shall meet them. Those with a kind word, intelligent conversation and a helping hand? Well those are the real sailors, both male and female, that I am here to greet and allow on my vessel for a dinner or more.
My vessel is always open for those whom have shown by their mannerisms that they are a good, honest person, and with luck, many shall walk my decks and will go their way, a better person for it, as I know i will, just from the chance meeting, or the long awaited and anticipated encounter.

rofl--actually cat are very social and loyal to their human--just rigid in their likes. bubba has duties in his family--he guards the boat, he lets me know when folks approach , by foot, dinghy, rowboat--and from where he hears the noise, and h e lets me know when the water is leaking--he hears it hiss--lets me know if it is going to rain and when--and many other good things--and they actually train better and faster than dogs--they wont do some tricks they consider dog tricks--but they will fetch, catch, lie down, sit, walk on leash, and snuggle on a cold night. on warm night they wont have anything to do with ye--they aint dumb....

Honestly though,,,,and i mean no disrespect to the fairer sex, when it all boils down,,i prefer the company of my cats,like Zee said they are loyal and know when i am feeling blue,and sick,and even when i am feelin happy,,and they respond in very vocal and sometimes squirrely ways,,,Some people have made comment on how weird a bond i have with my cats (god keep their little souls) all five of them, Momma and four Kittens, all gone now .

I have always looked for a relationship based on companionship first, but usually get dragged into a physical relationship and after four years or so,,it always goes south.

But its a big old world,so who knows right???

Besides, i plan on adopting another sibling group of kitties as soon as i am settled in Ensenada this October.
But i'll keep a light on and a cot to rest in, in case any of you need a refuge from the storm, be it weather or otherwise.
