Re: SSSSM - Part Deux

this life is amazing cool....one gets to meet those with whom chat and online conversing has occurred and those with whom one might gain interweb conversation at a later date--like meeting kordie without meeting him..lol...and alan on victoria---niice force 50....and alan from first jamel then amnesia II and others i am meeting on my road, which is a strange and convoluted one at present..lol...loving repairs on my boat--stuff i hadnt thought of yet are much needed and positive steps for this boat, not just bandaids....
hoping meet more of ye as i go..i know i will..just do i know before i meet ye or after--usually after..lol

Boating as a single mom

My boys (15 and 10) and I spend the summer months on my boat exploring up and down Vancouver Island, (West coast of Canada - Desolation Sound, Sunshine Coast, the Broughtons and the Gulf Islands). Every time I pull up to a dock I hear the same thing, "Wow, you do this all by yourself?". I know it's meant as a compliment but it sorta' bugs me. Surely I'm not the ONLY single mom doing this. I'd love to have a man on the boat, but that just hasn't seemed to happen and I'm not going to sit onshore waiting for him, so off I go, on my own. Whether you'd like to join me here, or have us cruise with you anywhere else in the world, I'm in! It'd also be nice to hear from other boating single moms!

Re: SSSSM - Part Deux

I'm very lucky in that I can pull the kids from school here anytime and travel. (I have sole custody of my boys.) As long as we can get to an internet connection occasionally, we could home school noooo problem. We have travelled a lot, by boat and plane, and would love to go anywhere in the world on a new adventure.

Re: SSSSM - Part Deux

is good to have flexibility even with kids to raise---also helps kids be more flexible as they grow and will need to be in our future, as well as our present times.....boating has a way of letting kids learn how to do stuff instead of the allegedly normal having it come to them. i think is much healthier way, myself. but that is just me....and there is so much to learn in this world..
