Hi there. Just got my invite from Zee so figured I'd jump in the fray. Had a beautiful day today unfortunately my boat is out of commission for a little bit while I replace a rotten bulkhead. I should be able to be sailing by mid month though.

ok guys--here goes--i will be sailing north this weekend for sea of cortez, aka golfo de california.
i have a boat slave now, for a little while, so i may as well get the most out of him--he likes my boat, so he is doing great work, which has been so overdue --- and we will end with a haulout in guaymas for paint and whatever needs fixed below--engine alignment and shaft and stuff will finally be addressed by replacing the old stuff and going with new or modified and tested stuff....dont now name of boat yard as yet, but i do know the name of the area in which we will haul this baby.
yes i will take and post pix--more bandwidth will be available.
SO.....we north now --first stop will be hopefully bartra de navidad, so the other boat can be brought in smaller steps than 1200 miles at one time....barra then mazatlan then la paz then more north ....when we have both boats in one place we will buddy and fix in sea....so, anyone in golfo de california, speak up so i can meet ye......or barra or maz.....speak up folks---i know where some of ye are---we be ready for party when i get there....or at least a beer and snack...
after repairs, i will go to panama and caribean with fewer worries and concerns..like, less dripping into boat from ocean...lol

oh smb i will have fun--my boat will be improving in quality and safety and appearance and strength..all is goood...
north because i want to keep the workerbee as he is a smart one, and boat fixers are a strange bunch--this one makes the rest look stoopit, so i will keep him for a bit and get a smuch as possible done....

Hello everyone,

I am Simon, currently sailing down the Mexico west coast to Costa Rica for some diving.

Then I got to decide whether to turn left or right at the Panama Canal.

Got some crew from findacrew.com. Working out great. Two experienced sailors and two more keen learned. One of the guys is Italian and won't let anyone else cook.

In Acapulco now, trying to get a macerator rebuilt.... Seems baby wipes don't agree with them. Hopefully the rebuild will work because a new one here is bloody expensive. But I have a spare head and can get one next time I'm in the US if needed.

Looks like I have a lot of reading to do here to catch up.

am waiting to see if my fixit guy is staying or going, as far as finishing and fixing my boat....we will see.

finally washed all the construction dust off my boat---whew--so much better now.!

Zee are you gonna hang up there for the summer? I've sailed out of San Carlos a lot in years gone by, it's a good hurricane hole. Or, are you gonna try and beat the weather and make for safe harbors in CR and Panama?

we gonna head into golfo de california and effect repairs so my trip to panama is easier--might be there a year.

thankyou, tom! we plan on guaymas for haulout and santa rosalia for docking for summer for bubbas air conditioner...cannot let the maine coon melt...not a pleasant sight. he gets so uncomfortable in heat. i am kinda used to it now--70 degrees f is COLD!!!!!!
