Does having your own collection of pilot-fish attract other, catchable and edible fish?

Re: SSSSM - Part Deux

Careful, some dogooder might declare your boat a nature reserve and ban you from defouling.

Hmmm, never heard of crab-farming before. Must look into that. Houses have veggie-patches.....boats could have oyster and mussel beds, and the crabs. No flowers though, pity. Ah well, have to impress the sweetheart with a magnificent bouquet of seaweed. Freshly picked. Darling!

Re: SSSSM - Part Deux

Since I am a bonafide sea gypsy, that freshly picked bouquet of seaweed would work for me!

Re: SSSSM - Part Deux

I suppose the vase would just need to be filled a bit higher.

Now here's something I'm more than usually ignorant about. Seaweed would be unlikely to have flowers, bees being poor swimmers and all. How in the world does it reproduce? Are there seaweeds, that don't smell like, well, seaweed? Are there stunningly beautiful seaweeds? Time for a search on the great interlibrary, BS-filter in hand...

Re: SSSSM - Part Deux

Wow, the things one learns on CF. Had a quick browse of seaweed and get the feeling we should rename them something other than weed.

Some Brit made some nice drawings a while back (flickr account so I didn't harvest the pic like usual):
antique seaweed specimen prints | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

A whole site for seaweed...really interesting, worth the look.
The Seaweed Site :: information on marine macroalgae

And a pretty pic:

And this thing from Guatemala is even made to look like seaweed. I guess...

But you gotta draw the line somewhere. Er, Hon....there's something on your head...how was your swim, btw? What's for din-dins?

Awww. <insert blush here....we need more expressive smilies>

Keep it up, I might be offered a decent rate to write professionally for CF! Hint hint...hmmm.

Hahaha! I was just going to tell you not to worry about the vase .... I'm just going to eat the sea"weed" being the mermaid I am! LOL

You can download a PDF of "Sailing the Farm" by Kenneth Neumeyer as it is out of print ;-)

Re: SSSSM - Part Deux

Thanks, looking it up now.

Yes, seaweed seems to have lots of uses....salads, sushi, soups, skin care....must watch out I don't confuse moisturising cream for dip.

Ah, I had this weird dream, I saw an very young man, Max Lingham, tall, straight, blond, dancing waltzes in a Degas painting.
