Re: SSSSM - Part Deux

Words sure are Zee. It is 66F here at 1130 on a bright gorgeous day with very little in the way of a breeze. A beautiful day for a photo shoot and yard work. I have both to do so I better get to it.

Re: SSSSM - Part Deux

It is spring up here in the PNW. The colors are starting to show all around us. Birds are chirping and the robins are going crazy in the grass. For some, or maybe just me, it is spring fever time... It is times like this when a sailor really needs a good 1st mate, to walk hand in hand along the beach in that quiet anchorage, to go to the markets and smell and see all their wonders. FOr those like me, good fortune and a bit of luck in the quest for the First Mate!

Re: SSSSM - Part Deux

In my part of the PNW it is hot and dry today. There is narry a breeze to fill a sail, if I was anywhere near water to enjoy it. It is a good day for relaxing.

Re: SSSSM - Part Deux

Here in Shelter Bay Panama it continues hot steamy and rainy. A bit much for me. Really wish I were in a northern spring.

Re: SSSSM - Part Deux

Personally I have a hard time understanding why people with sailboats want to live in the hot tropics in the summer instead of going south or north (depending on the hemisphere) to the cooler weather. Sweating is not a good thing for most, unless it is during exercises. I guess if you overstay somewhere you have to deal with it, but I will try ot be more nomadic. Staying in the late summer type weather where the food is more plentiful... At least that is my concept... Good or bad, It is mine.

Re: SSSSM - Part Deux

i continue to await documentation papers to arrive via mail to me from san diego-- when those come i can leave and sail out. until then i am kinda stuck, but this town is cute and the folks nice and the weather now is perfect. in summer, the gods made air conditioning cheaply for a reason. is excellent way to squeeze water out of air and cool off a lil, so summer can be done anywhere.]]food is altogether way too convenient here--easily gotten and plentiful. inexpensive also, un less you need to buy anything from usa or canada. local brands are just fine.

boatykatt land is gonna be wet n wild in a few months--dont know as yet where summer will be spent...sure is convenient and pretty here!

If you are IN the tropics, instead of close it is actually cooler there. I like enough heat to swim without baking or freezing.

Here in Texas temps in the 110's are not uncommon during the summer. When I went to Hawaii I had to wear a jacket, because 70-80 degs felt too chilly to me.

At 70 degs wearing only a pair of shorts in a trade wind breeze, I don't see sweating.

Re: SSSSM - Part Deux

Having lived all over the world, Snow to desert, most all of teh continents visited at taxpayers expense, I like 75 - 85 degrees during the day, and 60 - 65 at night. Tis teh weather plan I will try to chase. Luck to all who have the weather they want or need, but in all cases, safe weather is safe weather.
