Your idea, I would run with it. If not, I'll post using your words "ageing hippies music thread", your call Coops.

Hope to make it to Sea of Cortez by June. Maybe I'll see you there.

Didn't know you were coming to our neighborhood. It seems likely you'll run into me and Z. I'll probably be somewhere on the mainland by late April or May. Fair winds.

Officer-We saw Arlo in Seattle at the Zoo about 4 years ago, he did all 27 minutes of Alice's Restaurant and he is still the same Arlo Guthrie of 35 years ago!

For those looking for life crew-if you are Officer's (and my) age range, find a woman who will listen to Alice''s Restaurant with you as you sail off into the sunset and life will be good!

One of the other all time favorites for me from that era was Country Joe McDonald's "I'm fixing to die rag" that starts with the fish cheer, which along with Alice's, I used to know all the words to.

"Come on mothers throughout the land, pack your sons off for Vietnam
Come on fathers don't hesitate, send your boys off before its too late.
Be the first one on your block to have your boy come home in a box."

I'm easy Bob, if you have the time in the next 10 hours, please start it, otherwise i will get round to it. If you start it i will be diligent in finding old clips of some eclectic hippy singers and songs to bring back the memories, if not the mammaries. Could be a bit of fun, we shall have to have some rules though, like they have to come from certain years etc, or maybe rules are against the hippy logic therefore proving that we have aged and it did not work.

I'll run with it, and give credit of the concept.

Let's all sing it!

"Come on mothers throughout the land, pack your sons off for Vietnam
Come on fathers don't hesitate, send your boys off before its too late.
Be the first one on your block to have your boy come home in a box."
And it's ...
1,2,3 What are we fighting for
Don't ask me I don't give a damn
Next stop is Viet Nam
And it's
5.6.7
Open up the Pearly Gates
There ain't no need to wonder why (Go Margo)

"Yipee we're all gonna die!"
