Re: SSSSM - Part Deux

Hey Lorrie ~~I know what you mean, with partners on the sea. I've hooked up with a couple, in the last ten years, that really wanted this life...so they said.. Of course I can't blame them, as many don't know, truly, what this life entails. Or they thought living in a marina and daysails were enough. It's a might painful and can make one a little gun shy. I'm still friendly with one and am close friends with the last. actually, I introduced her to her now husband of 6 months. He is also a good friend of mine. They live on the hill and travel by plane ;-)

That lightning bolt that Zee mentioned does happen. it happened to my late wife and I. Altho I don't think that is the only way love can come, some times i think it can come in after the initial physical attraction and you really get to know each other. I think keeping an open mind is the key. It'll happen when it's supposed to.

Your profile says Mexico and Sold Catalina? Are you living on the hill then?

Good luck.

Yes, I am in Mexico.
Not on a hill however have a little view of Banderas Bay from the rooftop Palapa. Just a short 4 blocks from the beach.
Loving life in Mexico!

Hi Everyone.

I read the first 13 pages of the thread and the last 10 pages, so here goes:

I joined CF late last year to learn more about sailing; I have. I took sailing lessons in March and completed ASA 101, 103, 104. In 7 years, I plan on living on a sailboat. Downsizing has begun, so maybe I will be ready in 7 years .

My height is 6'2" and I weigh in at about 210lbs; clean shaven for the past couple of years. I have all my teeth and head full of hair.

A google search of "daw_two" will be provide you some insight to my current/past hobbies. Needless to say, I'm good with wrenches and can fix anything. While in sailing school, I fixed the diesel in the boat; the captain was grateful.

I consider myself a good communicator; will put more things in my bio in the SSSSM bio.

Welcome daw-two
7 years seems like a long time. If you are busy designing your life I guess it will pass quickly. Hope you can spend some time sailing and enjoying life between now and then.

Thanks for the warm welcome, lorrie.

Seven years will pass with a blink of my eye. I have a car to put back together, a truck project to finish and sell, and a young daughter to watch grow into a young woman.

I'm on here because I am a sponge. I'm starting to soak up sailing.....gain all the insight into fixing stuff on the boat. I'm also hoping that I meet a few people along the way. My vacation time hopefully will be spent sailing.

Life is about making plans.
With a plan you will have the desired outcome, welcome. I didn't sail until my children were in college and yes time passes very quick.
