Yes, it makes the Ebola Virus inert.

Here is a commercial unit.. I post this in the interest of information and not as an advert to purchase. I cant afford one of these but it gives you an idea of what it can do.

Notes from an eBola monkey:

The first patients family brought him to the hospital and waited in waiting room with the patients infected blanket.
The UV robot is not 100% effective - maybe only 68% and all surfaces must be available.
I love the way WHO and CDC marginalise and deflect with "Oh proper procedure wasn't followed."

Fashion never works.

And isn't that what the Madrid hospital said initially? Something tells me there's a future revelation about a breach of protocol!

Um, no. 2 cases in the us total. How does this change the mode of transmission? Outbursts?! This thread needed a bit of sanity. Glad to be of service.

Fell free to quote one of my "outbursts." Please.

Spain and Ebola: Discuss

Um, this is an aid worker from Liberia. We've known that aid workers and humanitarian staff have traveled to west Africa from both Europe and the US and that some have been brought to "the west" for treatment.

You have to ask yourself: if it's a coverup, why not keep it covered up? What's the point of voluntarily dressing up to what had, apparently been a very successful coverup until now.

Of course the alternative is that we've known about this patient all along, which of course is the case. Check the date on this story.Geesh: http://mobile.businessweek.com/news/...nt-from-africa

first I have heard of it,you would have thought it would have got more coverage after the Spanish case.

guess under reporting is a problem according to the BBC.....just doing my bit here to keep members informed.

BBC News - Ebola crisis: Outbreak death toll rises to 4,447 says WHO

The death toll from the Ebola virus outbreak has risen to 4,447, with the large majority of victims in West Africa, the World Health Organization (WHO) says.

WHO assistant director-general Bruce Aylward also said there could be up to 10,000 new cases a week within two months if efforts were not stepped up,

But the rate of new infections in some areas has slowed down, he added.

Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea have been hardest hit by the outbreak.

There have been 8,914 cases overall, including the fatal cases, and the WHO says it expects this number to top 9,000 by the end of the week.

The WHO estimates its figures by taking the numbers of confirmed cases and multiplying them - from Guinea by 1.5, from Sierra Leone by 2 and from Liberia by 2.5 - to account for under-reporting.

Falmouth-based RFA Argus to help fight Ebola in Sierra Leone

The hospital ship RFA Argus will leave Falmouth for Sierra Leone to help in the fight against Ebola.

It is due to sail away from its Cornish home port with 750 servicemen on board. Captain David Eagles said 80 of those were from 820 Naval Air Squadron at Culdrose, which is also sending three Royal Navy Merlin helicopters.

The vessel will not be used to treat Ebola-infected patients, but mainly to transport supplies and to ferry personnel.

Have you ever heard of a "straw man" argument? This is a classic example. The point is not what I personally am doing to fight Ebola. I never suggested that I was even in the right field to do the honorable work that doctors and nurses are doing on our behalf. I am only saying that you malign and dishonor those brave people by suggesting (without checking the facts) that they are somehow in coverup.

I borrowed this from Pat Bagley of the Salt Lake Tribune. He titled this 'FoxNews explains Ebola while at the same time sucking your brain out through your ear and eye holes'
