Cuba deserves praise if those numbers are true. But what is a bit scary living in South Florida is does that make Cuba a likely place for an outbreak of their own. You wonder what they have in place for the returning workers. And then with our proximity to Cuba and the amount of travel back and forth, you can easily see it spreading to South Florida.

I was thinking last night about each of the healthcare workers and volunteers, how odd there actions have been.. Taking off on cruises, refusing quarantine, outright lying in the one doctors case....

A conspiracy theorist might start to wonder if this wasn't a concerted effort to cause an outbreak.

I'm not sure the CDC has said anything consistently. How can you say something can't be spread by the air but then say it can be spread by coughing and sneezing. Semantics? Come on...

as a potential ebola carrier myself...( sitting next to two Nigerian professors on a 13 hour flight from London to Singapore)

I am not taking any chances during the incubation period.....so have been dosing myself with generous doses of RUM until my 21 day incubation period is up.....

I have decided to stay in Pattaya Thailand for another 2 weeks ,just in case as I would not like to give ebola to my family in the uk .......also it is cold there and rum is not as cheap

In my experience Cubans are a pretty happy lot, true on average they don't have a lot but they worship at a different altar than the rest of us. Their world revolves around family and friends and less about what material items they own. Its in their nature to help others without their hand out so I doubt very much that traveling to Africa has anything to do with running away.

The differences between airborne & droplet contact & direct contact transmission may seen subtle (but not merely semantic), but nonetheless very significant.
