Solo Transat racer collides with freighter

Beautiful boat....strong too.

apparently the only damage was a broken spi pole.

You can't be awake and alert all the time, and at those high racing speeds, it's not surprising that collisions occur. I am surprised the racing boat did not dismast.

If I remember right he was on deck keeping watch and simply missed them at night.
