Skipper Business Card
Hello,
I want to print new business card and I want to know what usually written on skipper card "Skipper" or "Captain".
I'm private yacht skipper (30-60 ft). If you can post your own business card it will be great.
Thanks!

Re: Skipper Business Card
Neither. Its a total wank unless you are a real captain of a real navy ship or the Queen Mary.
What's wrong with your own name?
Just put your name, boat name and email. A photo of your face is good so people getting older can remember you.
Mark.

Re: Skipper Business Card
I have a plain white business card with my vessel name and home port, my name, email and cell number, all on the left side. On the right side I emboss with the ship's stamp. The stamp has the vessel name, home port, gross tonnage, and my document number. When I fill out official documents I sign my name and emboss the document with my stamp. It always impresses me, even if no one else......

Re: Skipper Business Card
If the card is for professional marine services like yacht deliveries, charter captain or similar I would just write my name followed by certifications and credentials like "USCG OUPV" or whatever you have.
If just for personal use to exchange with other skippers, marinas or what have you I would put my name (and family if you like), boat name, contact info.

Re: Skipper Business Card
I had 500 printed with my boat's image, name, home port, my wife and my name and email address. A few months later and I had to change my email address. I have about 480 of them left.

Look on the bright side. At least now you have 480 drink coasters.

Hey mackconsult, you have the Maltese Falcon on your business card. Great vessel, one of a kind, out of curiosity, did you sailed her?

My wife thinks I should just cross it out and write it in pen or pencil.
They aren't shaped very well for drink coasters.

Re: Skipper Business Card
Buy round business cards next time
I always go when ppl cross out their info and write the updated info on the business card. Makes me wonder why they bought cards at all ..

Re: Skipper Business Card
Best card I ever saw, and bet was kept by everyone who got one, read on the back:
"Gone to pee, leave my drink alone"

We're in the process of having a business card printed. It's of the vessel and not us. It contains vessel details, callsigns and some information about the vessel like weight, mast height, loa etc.
The intended use is for authorities, marine facilities and marinas. Primarily so they can spell the name correctly and pick us out of the crowd.
Whilst my wife and I are the owners, we are not professional mariners so no point in calling ourselves anything special.

Re: Skipper Business Card
It sounds like this fellow is looking for a business card advertising his business as a yacht skipper, not as some wanker with his own boat looking to be obnoxious.
