Then I don't get why you're hanging on this site. Are you looking for a "Soul Mate"? Any kind of mate? Where do you plan to keep this mate while you're sailing alone?

Anyone else here this conflicted?

I've listed my values elsewhere - notably in the profile thread I started in the SSSSM group site. I think we have to be careful about going for the quick short lists. To much like so-called sound bites. Words have a way of meaning different things to different people. So without some explanation confusion can ensue. For example "loyalty". I would define as putting the relationship with my mate above my relationship with all others. But many men seem to define it as "you must always agree with me".

What say you all?

If your men think that you need to "always agree with them" then perhaps your men are pretty damn stupid and you should re-evaluate that crop of men or the pattern of the men in your picking!

Thanks! You've argued my point for me. Gotta ask for the details - then reject the stupid ones. Note I didn't say these were men I picked - just ones I've met over the years, and given a wide berth! I'm very picky about values.

I agree that non verbal communication is important, if it helps I can communicate in grunts For me the best guide to people (not just women) is what they do, not say...........and over time. lots of it.

I am sure you are right on some people's definition of the word "loyalty". But it doesn't mean that for me, and that's all I need to know.

Besides, I ain't that much of an optimist to look for the alternative definition

Funnily enough on the lying front I am not so bothered But then again I am careful about putting someone in a position of needing to lie, unless I am happy for them to. or understand why. Deception on the other hand is not part of the loyalty thing. Grey areas between those that take time to explore.......

Relationships - if they were easy everyone would be doing it..........well

hahahaha! YAY !!@!@!@

Clarification: I don't mind ela "Soul Mate" meeting up with me going coastal or bay somewhere in the world, just not when I go deep blue...and I have a list of reasons which I don't need to go into. Hell, "Soul Mate" doesn't even need to like sailing or wanna be on a boat. Besides, don't we need more pink boats out there?

Which brings up a question for ya:

Q: What if your "Soul Mate" meets all those wonderful values you have listed but doesn't like sailing, doesn't want to go on a boat, or just wants to (or has to) completely give up that life? Are they still your "Soul Mate" then?

as with women, there are waaay too many stoopit men. the weeding process is initiated upon the mention of name or sight, even sound of voice. .maybe first words read--many places to start-isnt conscious, so is all fair game

thought there were already too many pink boats out there--m0deration is the key to color---

solemait--do i even have one?? only time can tell

My instincts lead me to believe that the pattern is: woman are attracted to successful and "go get 'em" personalities in the male species...then they discover that the attributes that make them that way also make them pig headed and stupid.

Pardon the interruption folks,
I might join more in the conversation in a bit, but for now I need help with a definition.
WTF does "soul mate" mean?
How about "Love"?
I'm having trouble understanding these things...
Thanks,
-Brian
